Sydney Mesher, originally from Portland, Oregon, is a bicoastal artist pursing art in every form. Born without her left hand, Mesher's hope is to bring a new image to the forefront of entertainment; one that is inclusive and that celebrates all body types. As a dancer, Mesher made her debut as the first visibly disabled Radio City Rockette in 2019. Her other dancing credits include the Today Show, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and NHK Japan, Disney Plus' Growing Up (dance and choreography), and BTS Official.
In her modeling career, Mesher has worked with Tommy Hilifger, Adidas, Hollister's Gilly Hicks, Neen, Olay, and Nude Barre. She walked in NYFW for Abigail Donahue x WeWork. Mesher made her acting debut in Hallmark's A Holiday Spectacular, where she starred as Lillian. Mesher has also acted in a national commercial for Core Hydration, and has played the role of Midnight in the upcoming Amazon Prime series, Alex Cross. Her most recent accomplishment is the publication of her book, 'She Kept Dancing.' Cowritten with Catherine Laudone, and illustrated by Natelle Quek, She Kept Dancing tells the story of Sydney's journey to becoming the first visibly disabled Radio City Rockette. Jaquel Knight personally nominated her for the Monsters Dance Show. Other notable choreographers Mesher has worked with include Shannon Lewis, Candace Brown, Luam, Galen Hooks, Julie Branam, Karen Keeler, Rhonda Miller, Laura Haney, Sorya Lundy, Tony Testa, Liz Imperio, and Mandy Moore.
Mesher has been interviewed on the Today Show, Good Morning America, Access Hollywood, Goodwill's Evening of Treasures, CNN's In the Know, and NBC Nightly News. She has had articles written about her in ESPN, the Oregonian, and Health Magazine. She has been featured in articles by People, CNN, NBC, the New York Post, and the Mighty. She is represented by Clear Talent Group and is managed by EP Talent.
Read lessMesher’s heels class is inspired by both commercial and theater worlds. Using her experience from performing in various styles, she blends technique with strong musicality. Focusing on power and performance, her choreography is full body and encourages her students to command the space. A proper warmup will be taught, and additional progressions may be added. Students should have an understanding of jazz technique and placement of weight in heels.
